About the property

Enjoy a unique stay at this stately 1860's Italianate home built by James J. McCormick. There is a large staircase in the center foyer, original radiators and 10 foot tall ceilings. Your stay will have the 19th century charm with modern amenities. A kitchen capable of cooking meals, a designated work space and a bright bathroom with a shower/tub combo to get ready for local adventures that await you!

The primary bedroom has a king-sized bed with a large closet, a dresser and full-length mirror. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and an ample closet. Relax in the living room with plenty of lighting for a good read or watching a movie on the Smart TV.

The kitchen is fully functional with everything you need to prepare your own meals. There is a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and much more! The table can seat up to 4, when expanded.

The bathroom is small but mighty! A generous bathtub shower combo with subway tile and bright light from the large window is a great space for getting ready! There are plenty of linens and hanging space for towels as well as a removable shower head.

A shared complimentary washer and dryer are available for all guests to use on the main floor.

BONUS - There is a 7-person shared hot tub available on the outdoor patio for the adults to use year-round!

The McCormick house has served many purposes over the last 150 years but is currently a 6-unit apartment building. The home sits up on a hill with a large open area to enjoy a sit on the swing, a glass of wine on the porch or a picnic lunch on the grass. The large porch that spans the entire width of the home, has views of the Saginaw River. There is a shared patio at the back of the home where guests can dine or relax.

Nicole, my co-host is not located on-site but is available in person should the need arrive. She is just a call or text away to help if needed.

The two-story home has 6 units available for nightly stays. This is a great place to stay if you love history, 19th century architecture and charm of the past. Search for James, Joseph, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ann and Archibald McCormick. With 6 units, sleeping a total of 4 per unit, it is an excellent option for large groups such as weddings, family reunions, work travel, festivals, etc.

Of all the Airbnbs I’ve booked, this was one of the most immaculate places I’ve seen. I can’t imagine what the house was in its original glory, but the renovations are stunning and honor the character of the home. We loved exploring the house and the gorgeous historic features. The hosts have thought of EVERYTHING and more, extremely generous for travelers. You can’t really see or access the river with the industrial builds, but it’s well worth the money regardless. We hated to leave and would recommend for anyone! Thank you!
